COACH Solutions has developed a simple overview to help operators manage the increasing demands posed by the IMO’s 2020 global sulphur cap.
The new module will provide the operator with a constantly updated overview of which fuel types are onboard the vessel, in which port each fuel type has been bunkered and an estimate of the ROB upon arrival in the next port.
This gives the operator the necessary information to ensure that all high sulphur fuels have been burned before the regulation enters into force (if no scrubbers are installed) and helps optimise bunker purchases in the next port.
“The new overview makes the planning of bunkering much easier for the operator as they now will have a constant overview of what fuel types are in what tanks, where it has been bunkered and when a specific tank is expected to be empty, thereby giving them time to potentially clean the tank and be ready for the next bunkering. The IMO 2020 module ensures a complete overview of the fuel onboard and the capability to manage the increasing challenges of keeping track of the different fuel types after January 1,” Anders Bruun, CEO of COACH Solutions explained to VPO Global.
The module has been developed by COACH Solutions in close cooperation with its clients to ensure it provides the most benefit to owners and operators preparing for the new regulation.
